5. Turbines

5.1 Gas turbines

ISO/TC 192 "Gas Turbines", whose secretariat is in the USA, standardizes all aspects of gas turbine design, application, installation, operation and maintenance (including single turbine cycles, combined cycle systems, definitions, procurement, acceptance, performance, environment (on the gas turbines themselves and on the external environment) and test methods.

This technical committee is responsible for drawing up horizontal standards for all types of gas turbine. Work on aircraft gas turbines is to be undertaken in consultation with the bodies responsible for these sectors (ISO/TC 20). Five working groups share the task:
