3. Fields of application

Depending on the selection criterion, our positive displacement motors are designed for the following applications:

  • construction costs: consumer or industrial applications with low installed power (a few kilowatts), private land transport (two-wheelers, cars) where spark-ignition and diesel variants coexist (cars);

  • operating costs (fuel, service life): road transport (trucks), sea and rail (non-electrified network), construction vehicles and machinery, tractors and agricultural machinery, medium-power applications (a few hundred to a few thousand kilowatts). In these areas, the diesel engine enjoys a virtual monopoly; exceptions include American trucks with spark-ignition engines (a position in sharp decline), gas engines (dual-fuel or spark-ignition) for captive fleets and certain industrial applications....
