2. Vacuum pump classification

Vacuum pumps are classified according to their physical operating principle. This classification (standard NFX 10-501 or DIN 28400) remains valid despite the appearance on the market of new pumps which are classified under subheadings.

Standards are currently being revised (ISO committee, TC 112) (see [3] ).
