3. Constructive achievements

In this section, we'll take a look at a few examples of the different types of shifters and variable-lift and/or variable-time distribution systems, operating in discrete or continuous mode.

3.1 Decalers

The unscramblers will be presented according to their construction principle: chain unscrambler, helical ramp unscrambler, paddle unscrambler.

With the exception of the Denso electric shifter (Lexus LS 460), shifters are generally driven by a hydraulic system. The system consists of a shifter, a hydromechanical part that modifies camshaft timing, and a solenoid valve. The latter transmits hydraulic energy from the oil pump to the shifter.
