1. Radioactive discharges from French nuclear sites

In mainland France, there are a number of sites where nuclear facilities are in operation. Industrial facilities carry out the main operations in the nuclear fuel cycle, including electricity generation, while other facilities are dedicated to research and others to national defense. Table 1 shows the various nuclear sites. While some sites are more specifically dedicated to one of these objectives, others house facilities of very different natures.
