3. Prohibitions in the new F-Gas 2024 regulations

They mainly concern the use of fluorinated gases, notably hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), in certain equipment. Here are the main bans.

3.1 Ban on HFCs in certain refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment

From 2025: Certain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems containing HFCs with a global warming potential (GWP) greater than 2,500 will be banned from the market. These include domestic refrigerators, chillers and foams.
