2. Grate coolers

2.1 Technology

Cooling takes place on the principle of a cross-current exchanger, so the grate cooler consists of two enclosures separated horizontally by one or more grate planes.

The cooler body above the grid plates is fully protected by a refractory lining. External fans supply cooling air to the casings below the grilles, where it is distributed and blown through the grate plates.
