1. Determining the resulting load P on the glazing
The forces exerted on building glazing result from four different actions:
the action of the glazing's own weight ;
wind action ;
snow action on roofs ;
the action of exceptional loads, depending on specific risks (cyclones, avalanches, earthquakes).
Each of these actions is not necessarily exercised at the same time as the others, nor are they simply added together. They are weighted to best reflect the reality of climatic and physical phenomena. The highest load determined in this way is used to determine the glazing thickness.
