1.1 Definitions

  • The following terms are taken from ISO, CEN and NF standards [1] to [20] .

    • Thermal insulation: generic term used to describe the process of reducing heat transfer through a system, or to describe the component or system that performs this function.

      Thermal insulation can be achieved using an insulating material, product or system.
