4. Recommendations (lessons to be learned)

In the preceding study, we have sought to highlight the most common causes of disorders affecting reinforced concrete structures, without claiming to be exhaustive.

From each type of claim examined, we have tried to draw recommendations that may be of interest to builders (designers, inspectors, contractors, even experts...).

The most important thing to remember is that reinforced concrete is not a technique that can be improvised. Each reinforced concrete structure to be built, even of ordinary complexity, must be the subject of a specific study entrusted to a design office, or to a competent consulting engineer responsible for drawing up calculation notes and execution plans, which must be checked (very often, a simple glance by an engineer with practice and experience can avoid flagrant and/or recurrent errors, as well as the work itself...
