3. Glossary

cladding

A system of cladding elements fastened to a secondary framework of wood, galvanized steel, aluminum or PVC. Cladding may or may not be combined with insulation.

cladding

Exterior cladding system for vertical walls, consisting of a skin and a framework for mounting the skin in front of a structure to be protected.

clin

Long and wide element, 0.20 to 0.40 m, made of wood (or wood derivatives), metal (pre-painted aluminum sheet) or plastic (PVC). Each clapboard is arranged horizontally and overlaps the lower clapboard to ensure watertightness against driving rain.
