2.1 General

ADEME (Agence de l'environnement et de la maîtrise de l'énergie) has launched a call for projects aimed at helping voluntary local authorities with an Atmosphere Protection Plan (PPA) to set up, finance and run a fund to assist the replacement of inefficient individual wood-burning appliances in their area (known as the "Air Fund"), where regulatory values for fine particulate matter (PM10) emissions have been exceeded.

The Fonds Air provides financial support to individuals who choose to replace their non-efficient heating equipment (closed hearth, insert, stove) dating from before 2002, or open hearth, with a "Flamme Verte" 7-star appliance, i.e. classified as very efficient according to the charter.
