5. Glossary

Clin

Long element between 0.20 m and 0.40 m wide, made of metal (pre-painted aluminum sheet) or plastic (PVC). Each clapboard is arranged horizontally and overlaps the lower clapboard to ensure watertightness against driving rain.

Siding

Horizontally arranged inner skin used to contain insulation.

Scale

Roofing material with a rounded base.

Nervure

Profile giving rigidity to the sheet (figure 17 ).
