Tinnitus; Tinnitus
Tinnitus is an auditory sensation whose origin is not external to the organism, and which remains inaudible to those around it. The perceived sound may resemble a buzzing, hissing or even ringing sensation felt in the skull or ear, on one or both sides. Prevalence in Europe, Japan and the USA is estimated at around 10% of the adult population (David Baguley, Don McFerran and Deborah Hall).
