Function description

The purpose of any Digital Media Asset Management chain , ref. [23] is to enable the search, teleconsultation and distribution of audiovisual and multimedia documents via networks.

Document is a term with the following facets [21] :

  • recording medium: paper, computer disk, cassette... ;

  • the form of recording: alphabetical writing or ASCII coding for a text, video coding for a television document... ;

  • the reproduction medium: paper, computer, television or cinema screen, loudspeaker;
