5.1 Modeling

Among the non-probabilistic techniques that have appeared in image processing over the last ten years, fuzzy set theory provides a very good tool for explicitly representing imprecise information, in the form of membership functions [7][69][129] . The $M_{i}^{j} (x)$ measure then takes the form :
$M_{i}^{j} (x) = μ_{i}^{j} (x)$
