5. Conclusions and outlook
There's no need to go back over the revolution in lidar technology for archaeological prospecting, as the case of the Haye forest can be multiplied, sometimes to even greater proportions. However, two points require particular attention: on the one hand, the development of a clear recording protocol enabling the management and comparative analysis of a considerable mass of information; on the other, a better grasp by archaeologists of the processing of raw data, whose impact on the detection and interpretation of remains has been measured. This is essential for refining archaeological expertise, particularly when it comes to recognizing as yet unknown structures. Against this backdrop, we propose three possible avenues of development for lidar in archaeology: the use of full-wave, the development of lidar-equipped drones and the development of archaeological data analysis methods....
