5. Conclusion

The development of CPA technology in the optical field revolutionized laser physics, providing simple, elegant access to ultra-intense laser pulses. Numerous scientific and technological innovations quickly followed this invention, and the maturity of the technology has enabled manufacturers to offer numerous CPA systems that have become indispensable, not only in scientific research, but also for numerous industrial and medical applications.

Although all based on the same principle, the architectures are highly varied, ranging from compact fiber optic systems capable of delivering very high average power pulses (in the order of a hundred watts), but with relatively modest peak power (less than a gigawatt), to large-scale installations capable of delivering very high peak power pulses (in excess of a petawatt), but at very low cadence (from a single watt to a hertz)....
