3.1 OCT in ophthalmology
By offering high-resolution, 3-dimensional visualization of the eye, OCT meets a clinical need in ophthalmology that is not met by any other technique. This is why ophthalmic imaging, and retinal imaging in particular (figure 7 ), was not only the first clinical application of OCT, but also the most successful.
