2.1 Registration process

Let's denote by A and A R the complex amplitudes respectively of the wave Σ scattered by the object and of the reference wave Σ R (figure 4 ) at hologram H.

The total amplitude at point H is : A H = A + A R

The recording medium is sensitive to the light energy W it receives per unit area, i.e. the product of illuminance (or intensity I) and exposure time τ .
