5. Jones matrices of complex devices

5.1 Optical isolator

The optical isolator, also known as an "optical diode", protects against reverse light feedback caused by various reflections within an optical assembly, such as laser radiation or the elimination of reflections on screens or displays. This principle is described in figure 17 .
