2. A New Approach to Quantum Engineering in Space

We are currently witnessing a significant shift of these new quantum technologies from research laboratories to industry, particularly with the creation of startups (for example, in France: Quandela, Alice et Bob, Pasqal, WeLinq, etc.) in collaboration with universities, as well as the involvement of major corporations (IBM, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, D-Wave, Thales, Airbus, Boeing, Xanadu, IonQ, Rigetti, PsiQuantum, etc.). This field of development is extremely active, and providing an exhaustive overview is not the purpose of this article. We refer the reader to the article “Understanding Quantum Technologies,” which provides a fairly comprehensive overview of the various players involved and the technologies being developed.
