3. Spectro-imagers operating in linear field mode

These devices have a field defined by a slit. Thanks to the use of a matrix detector, it is relatively simple to simultaneously acquire the spectra of all the points in this slit, by dedicating each column of the detector to the spectrum of one of the points in the slit. To acquire the rest of the image, a scan of the scene is required.
