2. Molding in destructible molds
It consists in reproducing the contours of a model (destructible or permanent) in hollow form, using refractory materials which must possess sufficient plasticity and cohesion to retain the shape acquired after the model has been removed, or destroyed before or during casting. In this way, an impression is made into which the liquid metal is poured. After solidification, the part is removed by destroying the mold.
