In Europe, copper alloy castings are governed by the standard NF EN 1982 "Copper and copper alloys. Ingots and castings", which includes :
alloy designation systems,
composition limits for the main alloys used in Europe,
the minimum mechanical properties required for the various molding processes.
The NF EN 1982 standard also specifies the grades validated for the manufacture of parts that may come into contact with drinking water. However, other grades may be used provided they have undergone the required tests.
The designation of the heat treatment is not indicated in this standard.
