1. Context

A tool is a piece of equipment used to perform, or facilitate, a specific action.

Each tool is adapted to its function. Anyone who has ever tried to free a screw with a knife, or a pair of pliers, has realized the importance of a tool perfectly adapted to each situation: no good work without good tools! (although the opposite is unfortunately still possible...).

The invention, then mastery, of tools is a determining factor in the degree of evolution of a civilization (Stone Age, Bronze Age, etc.), enabling man to increase his strength tenfold and master elements much more powerful than himself.

Today, the tools we use have evolved, but their main function remains the same: to enable man to carry out the actions he is unable to perform "with his bare hands".
