1. Formatting

Compression is most often uniaxial, but as this leads to certain shape limitations, other means are sometimes employed, such as isostatic compression. A number of other methods are also used, often with little industrial development, but which demonstrate the flexibility of the process.

They will be described by classifying them as follows:
