3. Surface finish specifications

Technical product documentation (drawings, specifications, reports, etc.) connects the various stakeholders within companies. It is therefore essential that the information contained in these documents is known and understood by everyone in the same way. This information reflects operational requirements, determines how the product is manufactured, and enables its conformity to be declared.

3.1 Indications of surface condition requirements

The surface finish requirements are specified using graphic symbols and text descriptions. Table 7 shows the meaning of each graphic symbol.
