1.1 Elementary analysis

As we saw in [M 3 012] , most industrial processes are adiabatic due to their high speed or short deformation time: the core temperature of the product can therefore be estimated simply by neglecting heat conduction. The same is not true at interfaces, where normal gradients and heat flows at the interface cannot be neglected under any circumstances.
