4. Conductive polymers for corrosion protection

Following the classification given in the reference [18] , a distinction is made among conductive polymers :

  • ionically conductive polymers ;

  • charged or extrinsic electronically conductive polymers ;

  • intrinsically conductive polymers.

Of these three types of polymer, intrinsically conductive polymers (ICPs) are by far the most studied and the most promising in terms of anticorrosion applications.
