A sub-discipline of catalysis aimed at improving the performance of an electrochemical reaction through electrode optimization.

Alkaline Water Electrolysis; Électrolyse alcaline de l'eau

Process consisting in the dissociation of a water molecule into two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule, in an alkaline medium with a basic pH greater than 13, by applying a current between an anode and a cathode.
