Martindale abrasion testing machine
Equipment used in materials resistance testing, particularly in the textile industry. This device is designed to evaluate the abrasion and wear resistance of fabrics, coatings and other textile materials.
The Martindale abrasion test simulates the repeated wear and tear a material may undergo during normal use. The machine is named after the British engineer G.W. Martindale, who developed this test method.
How it works :
A sample of the material to be tested is fixed on the machine table.
The machine is equipped with a rotary table on which is fixed a support carrying abrasive discs.
