A f : temperature at which martensitic transformation ends during heating.
A p : temperature at which the transformation to austenite on heating is around 50% and corresponds to the peak on the curve measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
A s : temperature at which austenitic transformation begins during heating.
Austenite: stable phase at high temperature.
DSC: differential scanning calorimeter, a method used to measure transformation temperatures in NiTi alloys by detecting the variation in heat flow due to transformation during heating.
