8. Practical application

  • First example

    A Fortin barometer graduated in millibars is used. The instrument's indications are assumed to be accurate under standard conditions (g n = 9.806 65 m / s 2 , t 0 = 0 °C). The barometer is used in a location where the acceleration of gravity is g = 9.801 66 m / s 2 . The temperature indicated by the instrument's thermometer is t = 22.4 °C. The y reading on the barometer's brass scale is 1020.15 mbar.
