4. Skin sensitization test: Local lymph node assay in mice, LLNA (Local Lymph Node Assay), OECD no. 429
The LLNA test is based on the principle that sensitizers induce lymphocyte proliferation in lymph nodes draining the site of test substance application. This proliferation is proportional to the dose applied and the potency of the allergen. This makes it easy to obtain a quantitative measure of sensitization.
4.1 Induction
Days 1, 2 and 3: apply 25 μl of a suitable dilution of test substance, vehicle alone or TP to the back of each ear.
