1. Foreword

Just as the "Glossary of terms used in physical organic chemistry", published in 1994 by Commission III.2 of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, is a revision and extension of that published in 1983 , this new French-language version is an extension of the previous French publication (Glossaire des termes de chimie organique physique, J.S. Lomas, M.-F. Ruasse and J. Toullec, l'Actualité Chimique, supplément au n 6, 1985).
