4. Waste management in practice

As a preamble, we'd like to remind you of the practices that are unfortunately still in force among certain professionals, and that are prohibited in order to be able to claim responsible waste management:

  • no discharge into sewage systems (which can be supplemented by not mixing or diluting concentrated residues with wastewater of a quality acceptable to the treatment plant);

  • prohibition on abandoning waste in the natural environment (whether through one's own fault or that of the service provider to whom one has entrusted one's waste);

  • ban on open-air burning (except in the case of specific exemptions for firewood cleared by farmers);

  • prohibition on mixing hazardous waste with other categories of waste;
