1. Temperature and pressure ranges for PvT data
In Table 1 , we have compiled PvT data for a number of polymers, specifying their range of extension at temperature and pressure. These data come from various literature sources cited in the references. Several factors can influence the reported values, in particular commercial origin, preparation method, polymer history, measurement method, molar mass distribution, purity, presence of additives, etc.
Prior to PvT measurement, the sample may be compressed or compacted. It is generally dried under vacuum in an oven at 323 to 423 K, for a period ranging from a few hours to several days, depending on its nature. Each measurement therefore corresponds to a specific type of polymer.
