6. Set up process monitoring operations

Regardless of the strategy adopted to adapt periodicities, accident risks cannot be eliminated. This is why, for those processes which justify it, it is important to ensure that the company can detect any anomalies at an early stage. There are many different ways of doing this. Often, these methods are simply common sense - common sense that is already implicit in the company. If, during the "Interview users" stage, you learn that the problem was known, you've simply established the effectiveness of the monitoring.

The CFM has published a guide (see Bibliography) detailing various possible strategies, including the famous "pebble on the scale".
