4. Final expression of result

The expanded uncertainty is the product of the compound standard uncertainty and the expansion factor k = 2 : U=k∗uc .

Reminder of rounding rules to follow :

  • we consider at most two significant figures for uncertainty (by convention) ;

  • we increase the uncertainty and round off the measurand value (by convention);

  • the device resolution is taken into account.
