3. Impact of remote auditing on the audit process
The general pattern of a remote audit does not differ fundamentally from the general pattern of a face-to-face audit.
The reference framework for a remote audit is generally identical to that of a conventional audit: the requirements to be met should be identical. However, some standards or certification bodies specify specific requirements associated with on-site visits.
Using the ISO 19011 2018 on management system audits, an audit (whether face-to-face or remote) follows the following process chain:
