TRCP (Tire-Road Contact Particles)

Particles resulting from tire/road interaction, including all particles (re)emitted at the rear of the wheel: wear particles resulting from abrasion of the tire and the road surface, the mixture of which forms TRWP (Tire-Road Wear Particles), plus contaminants present on the road surface and resuspended dust.

TRWP (Tire-Road Wear Particles)

Particles generated by wear on tire treads and road surfaces. They are produced mainly while driving, under the effect of friction and shear forces at the tire-road contact. TRWPs are a significant source of fine particle pollution (PM 10 and PM 2.5 ).
