3.1 Soil reaction modulus

This parameter is the modulus of the track bed, evaluated on the basis of geotechnical data and the characteristics of the ballast beds under the track. It is used to determine the distribution of vertical forces on ties and sleepers, and consequently to assess their dynamic lateral resistance.
