5.1 Fire safety for interior fittings

Application of the European standard on fire safety has major implications for the very design of layouts (fire doors, number of emergency exits and minimum distances from them, design and location of baggage lockers, etc.), as well as for the selection criteria for decorating materials, upholstery, floors and ceilings, seat construction, etc., in terms of fire propagation and smoke emission.
