The indirect effects of a lightning strike refer to the electromagnetic effects caused by proximity lightning or by lightning striking the aircraft directly.
5.1 Electromagnetic coupling caused by lightning strikes
Coupling is essentially the result of linear electromagnetic effects, which can also cause non-linear effects such as sparking in connections between metal parts or in tanks.
Electromagnetic aggression is essentially caused by current injections at various points of the aircraft structure linked to a direct hit; in comparison, the effects linked to the electromagnetic field emitted by lightning channels moving in the vicinity of the aircraft are of the second order.
