2. Dredging process

The dredging process comprises three successive stages: excavation, transport and discharge or land disposal of materials.

It is possible for a single device to perform all three operations. On the contrary, sometimes three different pieces of equipment are required for extraction (dredger), transport (barges, hydraulic pipes) and discharge or disposal of the materials (dozer, elevator).

In addition, for certain special jobs on hard ground, it is necessary to loosen the material prior to extraction.

2.1 Dredging phase
