4. Define the verification method. Part 1: Sensor location

4.1 Standard method

French and European documents are in perfect agreement on sensor location. In temperature :

  • 9 sensors for an enclosure volume ≤ 2 m 3 , 15 sensors beyond that; 1 sensor in the center, the others distributed around the periphery of the useful volume ( cf. figure "Distribution for a volume ≤ 2 m 3 ", taken from FD X15-140) for an empty volume.

  • The central sensor is moved to a minimum distance from the specimen for a loaded volume, and the European standard even envisages the possibility of removing it.
