4. Correction of disturbances

With the exception of physical interference, the correction of disturbances observed in SAA can be addressed by both physical and chemical means. The former include systems for correcting non-specific absorptions (in SAAF and SAAE), reconsidering the electrothermal program or modifying the physical properties of the atomizer (by introducing a platform, for example). The chemical agents used in SAAF are called spectroscopic buffers, and in SAAE, modifiers. These are chemical agents added to standards and assay solutions to improve atomization efficiency and specificity.
