2. Instrumentation

If we consider the simplest principle of continuous flow analysis (injection of a sample into a carrier liquid moving uniformly towards a detector), the basic equipment for implementing this technique consists of the following elements (see figure 1 ):

  • conveyor fluid tank ;

  • means of propulsion for the carrier liquid ;

  • injector ;

  • reactor ;

  • detector and recorder.
