3.1 Linking the various modules

The previous study showed that a signal whose maximum amplitude is proportional to the energy lost by the particle detected is obtained at the terminals of the load resistor R c placed at the output of a detector. As the amplitude of this signal is always very low (of the order of just a few mV per MeV), it needs to be amplified while maintaining perfect linearity. In the chains used for simple nuclear radiation spectroscopy, the various operations are performed by a series of specific modules linked together by connecting cables.
